District 165 has officially put two new electric school buses into service, funded entirely through ComEd rebates and a U.S. Department of Energy grant at no cost to local taxpayers. Local first responders also received specialized safety training on the new buses. With a third electric bus expected later this winter, District 165 continues its commitment to safe, efficient, and sustainable student transportation.

The District 165 school year began with a meaningful tradition as students and staff gathered to raise the American flag and recite the Pledge of Allegiance. Retired Staff Sergeant and District Technology Director Bruce Rucker led the Pledge and spoke about honoring the flag and the values it represents. The ceremony highlighted service, respect, responsibility, and citizenship, bringing our school community together for a proud start to the new year.
